Workshop Description:
In this workshop, we’ll explore how formative assessments can be incredibly valuable in not only checking in on student learning but also building relationships with students and encouraging students to take a more active role in their own learning (i.e., fostering self-assessment, metacognition, engagement, and more). We’ll share examples of formative assessment activities and tools, as well as ways to practically integrate formative assessment into your course, whether it is online or onsite, asynchronous or synchronous. We’ll also discuss ways to interpret formative assessment results to inform and adapt instruction in manageable, time-sensitive ways.
