Panel Description:

Conversations around GenAI use in the classroom, in assessments, and in instruction have often been distilled into two absolutist notions of good and evil, missing opportunities to expand upon and embrace notions of impacts on identity and nuanced ways of imagining GenAI as a tool and cultural phenomenon. In an effort to surface nuance, conflation, and positive contradiction – in other words the human complexity of working with GenAI – this panel will be an opportunity for people to listen in on a conversation with educators from various backgrounds anchored by Indigenous scholars working through an identity exercise and reflecting on their own work with and around GenAI.
