Invitation to Participate in Research Study on Online Teaching 

The Centre for Teaching Excellence and Innovation (CTEI) is searching for YU and TFS faculty and instructors who have taught at least 1 online course within the past 5 years to participate in a survey and/or interview for a study! The purpose of the study is to learn about post-secondary educators’ experiences in online teaching. Please see below for details: 

Option 1: 10-minute Survey 

Share your online teaching experiences with us through a 10-minute survey. Responses are anonymous. As a token of our appreciation, if you fill out the survey, you will receive a $5 gift card to Starbucks, Amazon, or a comparable vendor. The survey will close 11PM EST on November 30th, 2024.

Option 2: 45- to 60-minute interview 

Share your online teaching experiences with a member of the CTEI team. In the interview, you will be asked to reflect on your online teaching experiences (challenges, successes, lessons learned, etc.). Responses are confidential and will be anonymized. As a token of our appreciation, if you are selected to interview and complete the interview, you will receive a $25 gift card to Starbucks, Amazon, or a comparable vendor. Interview sign-ups will close 11PM EST on November 30th, 2024.

Senior Educational Developer, Faculty Excellence and Development

Matthew Dunleavy (he/him) is an educational developer and scholarly teacher with over 9+ years’ experience. He immediately joins our CTEI from York University where he was an Educational Developer with the Teaching Commons; before entering that role, he served as the Program Director of the Online Learning and Technology Consultants (OLTC) Program at the Maple League of Universities (Acadia University; Bishop’s University; Mount Allison University; and St. Francis Xavier University). In 2022, he was awarded the D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) for this work.
